The service was excellent, but the music is better. It makes me wonder why I did not purchase this on vinyl when it was originally released.
This is an excellent soundtrack to the movie. It differs from the source material in that John Entwistle remixed some of the songs and pthers were eliminated. The inclusion of the High Numbers tunes make the soundtrack a treasure. The other artists material help give a sense of the Mods music tastes. All the non-Who and non-High Numbers songs are classics in their own right.
If you are a Who fan, you should add this to your collection; you will not be disappointed. Classic songs from the Who and various others from the movie. One person found this helpful. Classic Who. Love it! Superb Job! Extremely satisfied and highly recommend. Thank you! As someone who is big into the Who, The Concept Of AL.P.S.* - Unknown (Vinyl), I realized that the songs were a bit different. Entwistle produced the songs for the soundtrack and right way, he subtly changed a couple of things.
The bass line on The Real Me is different. His addition of strings and horns is superb. Quadrophonic is their best album and adding this is just right to your collection. Worth the purchase price for that alone, not to mention the other great Soundtrack additions that are not on the original Who album What can I say, it's The Who.
See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. What can you say? The original Qudrophenia album is my favourite Who album, and is also amongst my top ten albums of all time, so I had put off buying the soundtrack to the film for quite a while, thinking that the songs would be merely shortened versions of those that I already own - big mistake! Listening to the versions on the soundtrack is like revisiting an old friend - they're still essentially the same, but they're also different.
Some changes are subtle, whilst others are more obvious, giving some of the tracks a more polished feel. Some fans may not agree with this, but after listening to the original for so many years, it's really refreshing to hear these 'alternative' versions of some classic songs.
Highly recommended! OK, its a back catalogue purchase for a classic album of my youth, when in '79 there was a minor mod come-back. This is one of those albums you had back then on vinyl along with Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell et al. Good for the average 'The Who' fan and anyone that likes a bit of the The Concept Of AL.P.S.* - Unknown (Vinyl) stuff thrown in. At the price, it was a must to add to my eclectic list of 70s and 80s albums. The film soundtrack gives a different feel to the original album with lots of extra tracks from the film that capture and enrich the storyline.
Tommy has some great songs but Quadrophenia like nothing else hits teenage angst, frustration and isolation with the best Rock soundtrack who Who every did. Genius and another example showing how the money machine has turned today's music into soggy popcorn.
One of the best British films of all time, and the soundtrack is just fantastic. Definitely recommend, and The Concept Of AL.P.S.* - Unknown (Vinyl) a bargain price. Report abuse. There's a problem loading this menu right now. Learn more about Amazon Prime. Get free delivery with Amazon Prime.

This release is a sort of unofficial concept album, as it was completely recorded with The Concept Of AL.P.S.* - Unknown (Vinyl) Casio RP-1 and CA Almost everything here is played live, and there are no edits. In summation, its lo-fi to the core, baby.
